Patient Empowerment Programme

What's Involved?

The CancerPEP programme is evidence-based. It links science with practical advice to help you make positive lifestyle changes. Although the programme’s duration is for six months, the knowledge you gain will have lasting benefits. 

The program includes LIVE monthly video conferences with Rob and Gabriela focused on cancer specific wellbeing topics, an optional private Facebook group, and an optional CancerPEP ‘Buddy’ system.

Every day for 6 months you will receive an email from Rob and Gabriela and a 3-5 minute CancerPEP video teaching, encouraging home-based health-promoting activities, giving you the best possible chance for recovery and healing. Videos include:

Then look no further, the Southern Cancer Patient Engagement Programme (SCS CancerPEP) could be for you.

50 FREE Places Available to Cancer Society Southern Clients

Cancer Society Southern is excited to partner up with the Cancer Patient Empowerment Programme (CancerPEP) to offer 50 FREE places to Southern Cancer Society clients.

 

The programme offers resources, guidance and inspiration to support you through your cancer journey.

You may be eligible for the programme if you:
  • Have been diagnosed with any type of cancer.

  • Can safely do mild aerobic exercise and light strength training.

  • Can access daily emails and watch YouTube videos (either mobile phone, tablet, laptop or computer with online access).

  • Are willing to complete a pre and post Quality of Life survey before and after the six month programme and complete a consent form to be part of the programme.

About the Programme

CancerPEP is a comprehensive daily home-based 6-month Empowerment Programme offered by Canadian based Oncologist Dr Rob Rutledge and Psychology Professor Scientist Dr Gabriella Ilie (husband and wife team).

 

Rob and Gabriela bring extensive oncology and research expertise and have delivered the programme to hundreds of cancer patients across the world.

 

The programme supports you to make health and wellbeing gains at a pace that suits you and is easy to build into your daily routine.
